On the Edge: A Health Platform for Detecting Stress and Anxiety in the Elderly Using Continuum Computing

We are pleased to introduce “On the Edge”, a research and development (R&D) project focused on improving health monitoring for the elderly. The platform uses continuum computing, which integrates edge computing, cloud systems, and IoT devices, to provide real-time monitoring of stress and anxiety levels in older adults. Visit our web site at On the Edge Project.

About the Project

On the Edge is designed to monitor vital health signs through wearable devices and sensors. These devices continuously track indicators such as physical activity and vital signs, which are then analyzed by AI-based algorithms. This helps to detect early signs of stress or anxiety, enabling caregivers and healthcare providers to respond promptly.

🎯 Key features

  • Continuum Computing: the system processes data locally on wearable devices while leveraging cloud infrastructure for deeper analysis and data storage.
  • AI-driven insights: using artificial intelligence, the platform analyzes data patterns to detect signs of stress and anxiety.
  • Wearable technology: the platform incorporates various health sensors and devices to continuously track the user’s health in real time.
  • Interoperability: the system ensures smooth communication between wearables, healthcare providers, and caregivers.

The project aims to enhance early detection of mental health challenges in the elderly, providing a reliable tool for caregivers to improve support and quality of life.
